Alex and Caroline have been our close friends since college and so it was with much excitement that we celebrated the new life of little Miss Laura Claire! Her arrival was no small task. With much prayer and praise, we thank God for both a healthy mom and baby girl. It is also at such times that we experience the blessing of our family, home, work, and friendship. Oh little Miss Claire. She was just the cutest peanut when we took pictures. She could barely keep her eyes open for her photoshoot! After many kisses and much loving, she finally opened them to see what all the fuss was about, and with what beautiful blue eyes she greeted me! Congratulations Alex and Caroline on such a beautiful baby girl! Your family will be in our prayers as you seek the Lord's wisdom and truth on how to parent and love such a precious gift. Much love!

alicia and sambit: engagement shoot
It was over soup and sandwiches that I first met Alicia and Sambit, and they literally and metaphorically finished each other's sandwiches :). It was clear that they were a unique pair that had overcome a number of odds to find each other and to experience the happiness of their relationship. They were strong and disciplined, goofy and spontaneous and they complimented each other well. Sambit was a "knight in shining armor" in many ways for Alicia and so she youthfully radiated like a princess in a fairy tale throughout our time together at the beloved Garfield Park Conservatory. It is with much joy that I wish that the fiery spark of light between the two of them continues to bloom and grow with their love and friendship. Congratulations Alicia and Sambit on your engagement and wedding this year! Many blessings, happiness and joy!

the aikens family: family shoot
It's fun when I get clients that are totally new to me and the Aikens family fell under that category not too long ago. They were not only new to me, but also to the Chicago area in general and had recently expanded their family with the birth of their beautiful baby girl! After much correspondence, we decided to meet on a sunny morning at the Garfield Park Conservatory, and what a blast we had together! This relaxed and photogenic couple was a joy to work with and so it was not too long after our shoot that we planned another one (more images to come). It was fun to learn that we had many things in common including our faith! Praise God for this family, their obedience to follow the Lord to this strange new place of Chicago and for their love that they clearly have for eachother and their baby girl. Congratulations Aikens Family and we look forward to seeing you again soon!

the hurst family: family portrait shoot
It has now been over five years since I shot Stephanie and Chris' wedding by the river, and over a year since we last connected for a family shoot at Fermilab. The girls are now three and thirteen and it seriously seems like just yesterday "Sissy" was eight and wearing pigtails herself. What a treasure it has been to see and document the growth of these children over the years and to journey with you all in the different seasons of life. Chris and Stephanie, congratulations on raising two amazing young women, for continuing to pursue your passions in life, for learning to let go of good things when needed and to embrace change! You have continued to suck the marrow out of life and press forward towards adventure. My God bless you in this new and exciting season!
