This morning I had the privilege of being a part of a surprise engagement shoot at Wheat's End Cafe in Ravenswood. With the managers help, Noah had planned for a light breakfast with Megan with a perfect window seat. As they sipped their coffee, Megan began to count an abnormally large amount of Doodle dogs (her favorite) walking past. It wasn't until there were about 20 dogs congregated in front of the window that she knew something was up. They went outside the cafe, bent down to pet them, and when Noah stayed on one knee she knew today was the day. She said "YES"! Not only did she get a ring, and a fiance, but also a certificate for a Doodle of her very own. Well done Noah, and congratulations you two! May the Lord continue to guide your steps and lead you towards unexpected joy-filled surprises for His namesake.

alicia and sambit: engagement shoot
It was over soup and sandwiches that I first met Alicia and Sambit, and they literally and metaphorically finished each other's sandwiches :). It was clear that they were a unique pair that had overcome a number of odds to find each other and to experience the happiness of their relationship. They were strong and disciplined, goofy and spontaneous and they complimented each other well. Sambit was a "knight in shining armor" in many ways for Alicia and so she youthfully radiated like a princess in a fairy tale throughout our time together at the beloved Garfield Park Conservatory. It is with much joy that I wish that the fiery spark of light between the two of them continues to bloom and grow with their love and friendship. Congratulations Alicia and Sambit on your engagement and wedding this year! Many blessings, happiness and joy!

sarah and mike: engagement shoot
It was seriously a blessing for us to spend the morning with Sarah and Mike at the Garfield Park Conservatory earlier this month. There is so much tenderness, laughter, play, and delight in their relationship, it was hard for us not to smile from behind the camera. From their shared love of dancing and reading books to their long faith journey together, it is very clear that Sarah and Mike are not only lovers, but also best-friends and will be for many years to come. Sarah and Mike, we pray that you continue to speak truth in love to one another, to squeeze each other hard, and to always put God and His powerful grace at the center of your relationship. Congratulations again on your engagement and we look forward to celebrating your wedding together in early January! Blessings.
