God is so good. Seriously. It was such a blessing to be able to do this maternity shoot with Rocio and Orlando. Their patience and trust as a couple has been such an inspiration. They have waited so faithfully for God's timing to bring new life into the world and being newly married ourselves, I pray that Jeff and I will be able yo trust God just as faithfully in this process. I have learned countless lessons from Rocio and Orlando, but the thing that stands out the most clearly is the idea that, "God is writing your story". Although many of us wouldn't choose hardship in life, we can fear no evil knowing that our Heavenly Father is shepherding us through it all. Orlando and Rocio, may you never forget the love and comfort of His rod and staff as you learn to raise baby Eli into the ways of God. I can already see that you are going to be amazing, creative, fun-loving, flexible, and most importantly prayer-filled parents. May the Lord continue to bless you, keep you, shine His face upon you, and be gracious. We look forward to the birth of your little one with joy and expectation!

the barrios family: family portrait shoot
It's been over three and a half years since Ellen and Bernardo's engagement, followed by their wedding, Mateo's second month of life, and now we are approaching on his second year of life. Man, time flies and this kid is getting huge and adventurous! What a blessing it has been to walk (and sometimes run) along side this family as not only a photographer, but also as a friend. I have learned so much from their vulnerability, wet kisses, counter-tops and cappuccinos, bravery, impromptu trips, generosity and most importantly their understanding of God's grace. Ellen and Bernardo, you guys are such amazing people. It is so encouraging to see you work so hard at choosing to bathe Mateo in mercy as you build and define your family and the way that you will love your kids. Praying for you all even now as you travel last minute to the other side of the world to see God at work and pray about what he may have in store for you all as you listen with obedience and expectancy.

the brown family: family portrait shoot
Whether we are staying up late into the night around the camp fire, dancing in their backyard, or are gathered around the Word in our home-group, it has been so fun getting to know and share life with the Browns. No way was the fog, the dew, or soggy-shoe syndrome going to keep us from having a wonderful family shoot in Douglas Park and the Garfield Park Conservatory. With so much personality, laughter, jokes, and energy there was never a dull moment. This family loves to live life and it was such a privilege to be able to take the time together to reflect that through our family shoot. Thank you Matt and Lidia for loving your children and the Lord so much and for allowing your kids to grow up close to the earth and to the heart of God as you actively serve in our community.

the jacobson-ziesmer family: family portrait shoot
Had the privilege this week of taking pictures for Hannah and Ben again after their maternity shoot last month! What a fun, God loving family! I was not only able to take pictures of baby Eliza this week now that she has graced the world with her beautiful presence, but also of Hannah and her sisters who have not been together in Chicago for over two years! What a blast it was to celebrate their close relationship together and this mini-reunion for their family! These girls were hilarious and it was so much fun to be able to romp around Douglas Park with them in their matching outfits, ha. Ziesmer girls, enjoy the rest of your time together and may you each continue to share Gods love, laughter, and grace in your different areas of ministry around the world!
